Do you offer Transportation?
Yes! We provide driving for all members, so each person regardless of location can have equal opportunity to be a part of our Crew!
What is practice like?
Practice is rigorous yet rewarding, offering athletes a blend of physical conditioning, technical skill development, and mental focus. Here is a glimpse into what practice is like:
* We will gather at the MSU Crew Club Boat House or Demonstration Hall depending on the weather and time of year
* Experienced coaches will lead drills and workouts which focus on technique, timing, endurance, power, and race strategy.
* A post practice debrief where coaches, board members, and captains will provide feedback, encouragement, and resources!
What is the commitment level?
The level of commitment reflects the demanding nature of the sport of rowing:
*Weekday practices: We are a team comprised of college students, and we are willing to work around your class schedule.
*Weekend regattas: We travel to races on the weekends where members will need to commit additional time for travel and participation.
*Team events: Club activities may include team bonding events and social gatherings to foster a sense of community among members.
*Financial obligations: All club organizations are “pay-to-play”, and members are responsible for covering expenses related to club dues.
What is the Cost to join?
We want every member to want to be a part of our program before they worry about dues! Prospective members will be given 2 weeks with our club before they are asked to make a commitment. In order to stay financially stable and operate our program, rowers are expected to pay $750 per semester and coxswains $500. We have many resources to help lessen this financial burden.
